sleep to live beds uk

Hi I have just bought a sleep to live 700 series bed in the uk and it is proving to be a nightmare. First of all it is higher than the one in the shop so my husband cannot sit on the edge and touch the floor with his feet like on the same bed in the shop. For me, my back is killing me in the lower lumbar region. I have spoken to the company and they say my back will get to like it and I have to have it for 40 nights before they will do anyhting. I am really worried that it might do damage to my back - their computer in the shop 'chose' this level of mattress for me but it has got it seriously wrong - has anyone got any comments which might help me? They have given me a green mattress and it feels as though I am sleeping on a bouncy castle it is so supple. Thanks
